on topic: i do have some experience actually. my father thaught me basic economics and the safest way to invest with high revenue is to invest in a crisis and then sell when the economy is booming, and you expect another crisis. 2017 or 2018 would be a good time to sell, while until 2020 we're likely to go into a recession. when the markets dop to about 70%, you can invest and be sure to make 50% profit within 5 years.

Invest in real estate, property never disapears. While stock is basically a donation to a company that may or may not ever be successful and be able to pay you back. But if you insist on investing, make sure to invest in stable industries such a medicine, and avoid cutting edge industries such as Virtual Reality. Although the payouts can be much better if your lucky, as someone new to investment I recommend playing it nice and conservative.

Invest in insurance business or e-commerce

I traded on the NASDAQ for 3 years as a broker, in times of war buy guns, in times of floods buy boats! I would suggest spreading any exposure to your capital by having a mix of investments in different industries, pharma, tech, etc so u can hedge your bets. Don't expect to make any money in the short term and most (sensible) investments in the stock market are long term reliant on dividends to pay out for any profit. The guy that suggested to buy low after a disaster or crisis and sell high later is on the money - there is a lotta money to be made out of suffering - you may as well make it - they will still suffer.

I dont have much experience but I'm interested in it too. With the current economy in the UK check out some UK pharmaceutical companies for safe gains. Pound is dropping which means their goods are more price competitve in international markets. If you want higher gains and a bit more risk, check out the aim100 picks on the london stock exchange site. A tidy number I've been tracking is fevertree drinks.. they make tonic water and mixers

Btw I dont think now is the best time to invest tbh, keep your money safe and wait for the next crash... thats the time to buy
