In regards to Coalitions

I recently began playing with a group of friends and I was interested in forming a Coalition. If I were to buy a full package and create one, woudl they as non-premium members be able to join? Along those same lines, can non-premium players join global games? (I would test this one out myself but it appears the servers are down for me).

Yes to both.
Non premium members can join coalitions and can join global games (I'm taking that you mean whole world games) but cannot create them.

They also can't become officers or leaders, I fear. Although I recall having read that, if becoming one while temporally having the respective premium feature, they'll still maintain that position after the expiry of the respective feature.
Not completely sure, though.
