引句:
Now to get the 'GDP' for each individual city, you can do what the admins did. They looked on Wikipedia for the GDP for a whole country, then divided the population of the city by the population of the country and multiplied by the country's GDP. So for example:

GDP of USA= 15 Trillion
Population of USA= 311 Million
Population of New York = 8 Million
New York / USA = 2.57%
GDP of New York = 385.5 Billion

At which point you can scale as shown in Runway's topic. If you give me a list of all the cities you want 'GDP' for and what you want the highest income of a city to be, I could probably help you calculate the incomes. The highest income in the default map, Tokyo, is 559. New York is 365.

----------------------------------------------------

Great. But I don't see that formula used anywhere, not even in the stock world map. There isn't any formula that I can see being used.

Sooo.... if I take the GDP of a country in real life, divided by the population of the country in-game I will get GDP per in-game capita. Then I can multiply that times the population of a city to get the base income. But that means once I start setting incomes I better have all the cities in the game first.

BUT that also screws up the system. If I use 1 billion USD in GDP = $1 in-game... US GDP = 15.68 trillion, so in-game would be 15,680 income for the country. But Russia GDP is 2.015 trillion, so it would be 2,015 income for the entire country in-game. Mexico = 1.177 trillion, Germany = 3.4 trillion, Algeria 0.208 trillion, China = 8.227 trillion, Spain = 1.349 trillion.

I can do spot fixes and tweaks later, but i'm looking for a formula/system to apply to all the countries as a base.

Suggestions?

I got it. It is embarassing how i didnt figured it out sooner, it is so simple:

Forget national GDP, use GDP per capita, thats what matters. Chinas national GDP is 9 trillion, Norways national GDP is 500 billion, but single chinese makes 5,000 GDP per capita and single norwegian makes 100,000 GDP per capita. Who's richer?

Therefore you dont calculate 15 trillion GDP of america, but 50,000$ GDP per capita. Also doesnt matter country population, but city population is what matters(for income, for aestethic look you add country/region population).

Population of USA = 317 million
National GDP of USA = 15 trillion
GDP per capita of USA = 50 thousand
Population of New York = 8 million
GDP per capita x Pop. of NY = 400 billion
Income of New York = 400

Also there are not many US cities on the map, there are around 30. I didnt waste time to calculate all but average income is 200 x 30 cities = 6000 overall income. If you add more cities income will be higher. Same for Russia, China or any other Country - income will be how many cities you add.

Those numbers don't really add up for the European part of the map.
Many cities income have been boosted beyond the pop of city x gdp per capity formula. Seems like they often used the whole Urban Area to boost the numbers.

Example; Berlins income ingame: 259
Berlin with the pop of city x gdp per cap formula: 3400000 x 45,925 = 156.145.000 in conclusion 156 ingame income
Berlin with the pop of urban area x gdp per capita: 6000000 x 45,925 = 275.550.000 in conclusion 275 ingame income

After all this still remains cryptic. Actually I don't believe there is a clear pattern behind this. Some values have been boosted and sum up total national gdps. I.e Serbia 43 bln GDP sums up ingame to 45 income, while Belgrade should make only 7 income. Strong economies like Germany, France and others have been more than halfed. I.e Germany making 3 trl. GDP summing up ingame in about 651 income.
