Imperial Diet Elections 2016

Greetings fellow Imperial Union Citizens,

As you may know, it has been exactly a year since the 2015 elections. The 2015 elections were a disaster - with several alternate accounts voting. Due to that, the elections had to be cancelled entirely.

For those who want brief overview: the centralised government of the Imperial Union is split into two houses. The ARC Government House (2010-Incumbent) and the newly created Imperial Diet House. The Imperial Diet was proposed by 8th Arcsfuhrer WaiserReich, (along with his new constitution) as a new way to balance elected and unelected power.

Before we can start the actual elections, we must first have parties. You, the citizens and people, will be the ones that will be able to run for the party.
You must have all of the following criteria:

Q: Do I have IU Citizenship?
A: You need IU Citizenship in order to create your party. Here is a list of the following coalitions under IU rule.

Q: How long (duration) must I have been in IU?
A: You should have been here for at least more than 10 days.

Q: Do I need a Skype Account?
A: Yes, you will require a Skype Account (if you REALLY cannot get access to or use one, exceptions may be made).

Q: How active to I need to be?
A: Daily (Preferable) or Twice a week minimum.

Q: Once I am elected when will the Imperial Diet Vote?
A: Usually every weekend we will vote, however, there may be exceptions in emergency circumstances.

Q: If I am part of the Imperial Dynasty/ House of ARC can I form a party?
A: No you cannot. Members of the ARC or Dynasty must be separate from the Imperial Diet. As the Imperial Diet is here to balance unelected/hereditary power with elected power.

If you have all the Criteria then you may proceed to form your own party.

Methodology

If you are active, have citizenship and are ready to start as a party leader. Then here are the steps you must take:

1) Think of your ideology, what do you stand for, and whose voice do you really want to be heard?
2) What is your stance on the issues facing the Empire today? (here is a possible list)
- Roleplay: For better of for worse?
- Cartography: Is it right or wrong that the Imperial Academy withhold and keep advanced map making techniques secret, rather than helping all of AtWar
- Banlist: Centralised or diverse? Who should hold the power to the central ban list.
- Forms of Governance: How should clans be administrated?
- Surveillance State: Should the ARC really have 20 spies and a statistics office to survey the Imperial Union and any enemies?
- Finances: The Budget - how should the £500 a year be spent? This year the 7th Former ARC Government (now dissolved) has spent the entire budget.
3) Think of a Party name + the style of ideology you think of. Also, think of what your followers will be called (e.g. Hitler's are called Hitlerites)
4) Gather support. Make sure you have party members (as you are the party leader) all of whom can be part of ONLY ONE PARTY.
5) Write a short but concise manifesto along with the names of the party leader, and the party members in their order of importance. Send this to the "Imperial Crown". Also do not forget to send what you would like your followers to be called, and the name of your doctrine.

NOTE : To be a party member, you also have to fulfil all of the criteria above, you just do not have to create your own party (obviously). You can be part of ONE PARTY and ONLY ONE PARTY.

The Party campaigns and electoral campaigns can begin once "Imperial Crown" responds to the party leader with the phrase "Authenticated".

The Elections have begun!

National Socialist Coalition (Combination of the NSDAP and the Istryian Party)

The time has come for a change in atwar, a change that will influence the new players and change the mindsets of good and bad players alike. The time has come for a party to stop the liberalisation of the ID and ARC. We need to regulate IA, make sure that Roleplay does not take over atWar and increase the number of mapmakers that pass through our government. With the support of people including KingJim, CSOR, Metallic Fear, and others we will bring atWar into a Golden Era once more with more regulations to stop the growth of foreign powers, more centralization to increase the amount of control we have over our clans. With the lack of regulation we have had, plots to overthrow the government have been set in place and the government has been weakened by infighting and the formation of political parties within the upper government. We need to continue the number of spies we have in order to make sure that plots do not bring the end of the 8th ARC and the ID. We need to make sure that the government can be strong and be united against new and old enemies alike. People like HRP will be the downfall of the government by weakening our regulations that are weak already. With an expansion of able, loyal mapmakers, the increased funding of those mapmakers, we will prevail.

Roleplay: Roleplay is a sizable piece of the community and should be respected. Roleplay should be preserved because it can help build players to be better at the game and many players in the atWar community find it to be an enjoyable way the play the game.

Cartography: Map Making techniques should be handed down to a select few map makers who show potential to be great, so that more quality maps can be made to make the community grow in size due to map appeal.

Banlist: the central banlist should be Centralised, in order to establish power in Central Government and to avoid potential unfair banning by regular people based on dislike, rather than breaking rules.

Forms of Governace: I believe the clans should be run in a Constitutional Monarchist-type fashion, in order to establish power to the leaders, but not absolute power.

Surveillance State: Spies implamented by the ARC, or by any other house should not be allowed to survey/ infiltrate any other opposing house, and any spy networks should be terminated immediately.

Finances: The budget of £500 a year should be preserved throughout the year, in order to fund any mid - late year needs for the Goverment, such as funding for premium for a potentail mapmaker.

• Members feel respect. They respect diversity and promote the difference among members and their very particular preferences.

How to Vote:

Each respective clan leader in the IU will hold an election within their clan forum!
This is an absolute democracy, so all the votes will be taken in from clans, and then seats will be distributed accordingly.
