A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.
What do you believe? Personally I believe freedom to favour the brilliant, and would be better off forgotten by the mass population. From my personal observations, the typical person is willing to trade there freedom, which is priceless for saftey and comfort. Then they are willingly persuaded by the media into a false sense of freedom. Then people argue that regulation is needed do to criminals and to that I say is false. Nothing should trump individual freedom, not a damn thing, and definitly not your fears or presumptions.

Maybe they aren't fears or presumptions? it's pretty evident that regulation is necessary to prevent rampant corruption like what happened in the gilded ages. i mean even with these regulations, there is still corruption in the higher echelons of the economic world. regulations aren't made to trump your individual freedom. they exist to maintain them.
i mean think about it for a second. have these regulations made the government knock on your door and forced you to do something that impedes your liberties? nope.
you can't just pick one side or the other because each extremes lead to terrible consequences. anyone with half a brain can notice that there needs to be a healthy balance on how much control the government has on your daily life. the only debate here is at what point does this balance breakdown.

I'm not sure where your from but I cant collect rain water, I cant fish, I cant hunt, I cant play loud music, I am told I must give a percentage of my income to a state that uses that income in a way I do not agree with, the same state forced a Christian bakery to make cake for a gay wedding, the same state that gave me a ticket for letting my dad park his boat at my house for three days, the same state that wants to ban a tool known as fire arms because people misuse them. The same state that's trying to force kids into attending there public indoctrination centers known as public education. The same state that is using my taxes to try and incriminate the president because there preferred candidate lost in a election.
Balance will always break down eventually if you wish to give your freedom to someone else in the form of government regulation. Power corrupts absolutely, if it rests in the hands of the same entity for to long. You cant regulate crime, evil, and corruption from this world it will always exist, you can only destroy it with the upmost vengeance and fury known to man. Untill man realizes you cant fix stupid, and you cant stop corruption with regulation, society will continue to break down.

yeah, there are laws against collecting rain water, fishing, hunting or playing loud music for a reason. many of the laws you're crying about are made to not only protect its citizens, but also the environment. for example, you're saying people can't collect rain water, but its for a good reason. the government doesn't want you drinking contaminated water without treating it. furthermore, there are permits that lets you collect it as well. you talk as if fishing or hunting is banned too, but that's just wrong. there are hunting seasons and places where you can and can not fish because of environmental reasons. this land doesn't belong to you. you have no right to contaminate or hunt an endangered species just because of "MUH LIBERTIES" because they aren't yours. same thing goes with the loud music. if you're playing loud music, you're impeding other people's liberties playing retarded music at 2 am in the morning when everyone is trying to sleep. these laws exist so that society as a whole can function. i seriously don't see your point dude. you're just crying about how since the government doesn't do what you want, it's corrupt or evil.
i could go on and on about that bakery, the ticket or why many americans are trying to remove or at least put a greater restriction on fire arms, but i am too lazy to type it. regardless, it just comes down to this: laws help society function and if you don't follow the law, you face the consequences.
also, if you think you're so enlightened that you think you're above the law, then go fuck off to another country. you're not special.
if u can't stop corruption with regulations, what do you propose genius? shoot the bankers and the corporate fat cats with your guns? ahahahahhahaha

Your disrespectful and I'm done talking to you. This was a question, because I wanted to hear what atwar thought about it. I dont have a viable solution that is why I asked, to get a better view of the situation as whole. At this time my proposition is 2 term limits on all government positions for a maximum of 8 years. That will stop career politicians from using there various positions of power to leverage wealth from special interests. Get rid of unnecessary regulations, and stop regulating the majority in the interests of minorities. Now do you have anything worth saying? Or are you going to keep attacking me trying to protect you precious bubble reality? Btw those where examples not entirely the point and you focus on them rather then the original topic. bro, i just responded to your opinion because it seemed wrong and looked as if you were spreading misinformation. you were using your opinion to back up your point which i did not agree with so i questioned the validity of your claims. bro, if you think its a shitty tactic because someone disagrees with you and has a valid reason for it, you need to seriously burst out of your safe space or get a dose of reality. all my responses to this thread were perfectly appropriate and it doesn't prevent anyone in atwar from answering your original question of "What do you believe."
what the actual fuck do you mean when you say discredit the question in the first place? yes, i'm discrediting your claims on regulations and other things, but how does one even discredit a question? that just makes no sense.

I'm not a anarchist, I dont believe politics should be a career. It leads to over beuracracy, as they try to validate staying in office by passing un-needed laws to be perceived as doing their job to get re-elected. That causes a state of over regulation in order to stay in power so they can continue to collect revenue from special interests to vote in a way those special interests demand.

200 years? You forgot Egypt, Rome, China? More like 2000 years for Egypt.
Anyway, you're looking at it the wrong way, the state need money to maintain and develop basic modern services like roads, tunnels, bridges, electricity supply, clean war, without it you wouldn't have certain living standards you have now. Every house and building need connection to infrastructure, and no company-for-profit will enter that race because its expensive so therefore, the government must do it.
Roads cost billions to build (in my country; $500,000 per kilometer on county roads, $5 million per kilometer on highway), do you think private company will do it just so they can earn $5 toll afterwards? I'm not even going into cybersecurity, military, or health regulations, things so complicated only state/govt can handle.
If government/cabinet stop collecting taxes and reduce regulations, hell will break lose, both economical and social. Therefore, you need to balance between individual freedom and society/state, pretty much like Germany 1950-2000. Germany is always good example pre-2015, not small, not big, have corporations and wealth and mixture of capitalism(free market) and socialism(public services).

200 years? You forgot Egypt, Rome, China? More like 2000 years for Egypt.

"The Average is 200 years." And if you want to get technical, each of those countries went through numerous regime changes, usually through assassination, or a brutal civil war. And as I said I'm not anti government I only stated the flaws of modern government and how the natural cycle will continue in it's current form.

How're you gonna separate it?
Ban people with iq lower than 125 to vote?
That would be racist

Aren't they already persecuting minority thought? The only freedom i seem somewhat confident is the freedom of how to respond (i.e do i get mad, do i accept it, do i roll my eyes) to the political issues plauging us now, but that have been there for centuries.
I hear you Helly, and while agree with what you say, i'd take it a step further and say that the 'public treasury' is a false construct, designed to control the masses through debt contracts. At the end of the day, we (i.e. North America) go to bed with a roof over head and food in belly. The 'accounting' is balanced from that perspective... regardless if the financial books say the 'public treasury' runs a surplus or a debt.
But until there is a single country* that's not in debt, i have to say based on evidence, the whole system is a rigged casino game. {* denotes country bigger than Lichentstein) {There are 5 countries who do not have any external debt: How many can you find on a map of AW}
Macau.
British Virgin Islands.
Brunei.
Liechtenstein.
Palau.}
Anyway,
i've come to the conclusion all you can do is change yourself. To change someone else is a free will violation... the majority likes thoughtlessly electing someone else to represent them so they can absolve themselves of any personal responsibility.
much ♥ to you though for putting it out there and getting people exposed to it

Please read my post, it concernes your statement 'public treasury is false construct'.
About your statement 'rigged casino game': what about 150 million workers in America? (i think we still speak about that country and their public services and debt), they earn money every month, they don't gamble, they work steadily and safely 25-28 days a month and then get a paycheck. Then the government/state takes a cut(tax) and fund projects or ministries/departments, so where can we find gambling or risk here? People can prove the origin of their money, they can prove they worked, they can prove they are citizens of the same country, they can prove they have no police record, and they can prove government took taxes from them, so where's the risk/casino part you're talking about?
Debt part comes in, in a form of loans the government take as extra fund for their projects/departments, to speed it up, but majority of treasury is real money, backed by work, taken from the people who have steady jobs/income, so cycle can go on and on, as it does for the whole modern era.
Problem is US government is taking more loans than it repays in the same year, but we can't blame the whole system for that, doesn't make sense to do that, that sound very similar to bolsheviks complaining in Russia 1917, instead solving problems, they were talking about the system and how to change it.
Just solve the problem, you're trying to look way to deep to the point you miss the problem and continue looking for it in the wrong place.
