The units in this game should get experience and level up just like we do. they get XP after every battle if they survive and level up and at top right corner they get the symbol of level 1 just like we do a dot. maximum is level 3. also they are not with your normal troops. when u see what troops u have in a stack and see the pictures you'll see your normal tanks by it self and level 1 tanks by it self.
LEVELS:
level 1: +1 view +1 range
level 2: +1 attack +1 defense
level 3: +1 hp and lower maintenance
even though they become powerful they can still die and when they do you lose them permanently

I like the idea of battle hardened troops being rewarded for survival. I don't think the main stats of the units need to be changed (it would make them OP as Pulse suggests). I do like the idea of lower maintenance. Survival could make them more efficient. For example, after 2-3 battles won a reduction in maintenance of 10% (rounded up to nearest 1). No 0 maintenance allowed and a max reduction 3 times. Maybe on the third bump they get +1 to crit.

this is impossible since the game dosn't keep count of individual units.
