I have played quite a few games now and I lost most of them (I did win some but no significant gain). I seem to do everything right - I peace with everyone, select the closest opponent and blitz him. Well, I am unable to finish him/her off and then due to some magical circumstances the tide turns and I lose! I've had a game against an American who used a MoS vs. me in China South and lost due to marine spam, I have played for Russia Volga and was doubleteamed by Spain and India, I played for USA Pacific vs. a USA Atlantic and lost that due to his stealth. What should I do differently to prevent this from happening?

I have all knowledge about magic you might need to understand and I can guarantee you that peacing everyone will not get you wins. Yours faithfully, Karma.

I know but the reason i peace with everyone is so that I can focus on a single threat - my closest opponent

Keep playing... there's no magic (soz Raoul) ... watch what the players who beat you do, and learn. Efficient use of units is surprisingly complex, given the simplicity of the game.

That way you won't truly learn, that is no way of putting your skills to the test. And by not doing so, you're not learning what you could potentially learn. I personally learned by failing basically and observing people that played better than me, specially during the battle phases

Of course there's 'that' magic... but it doesn't tend to work as well for new AW players.

On a serious note... as someone who is also new and loses a lot... one thing to take note of is how to protect your cities and territory in general. Players that beat you are most likely also know how to wall well. If you don't have that down, you're going to get destroyed by stealth regardless of what strat they're using. Your cities are basically free to take. The times I don't lose, it's because I find players who do nothing to defend their capitals, so I sail a few marines in and then it's mine. And to clarify, I do not have MoS as an available strat to me. It doesn't matter what you're using against unwalled, low-manned capitals.
