Iran Iraq War 1982 Scenario

Welcome to my first scenario I have made. I have recently become interested in the geopolitical situation of this time in the Middle East. I am no buff on the time period, as I usually focus my military studies on Victorian-Interwar-World War II-End of the 50's time frame. I would like for some help and advice. So far, I feel like I have the core down, I just need to begin tweaks, and as updates are realized, how best to use them. Anyways, lets dive right in.



GOALS
-Create an accurate representation of the politics of the 1980s with room for balance and fun.
-To help use this to launch more scenarios based on obscure political situations like the Chinese and Vietnam border clashes, South America during the Cold War, etc., etc.
-Merge many conflicts of the 1980s into a historically accurate scenario, where they are running parallel to create a fun and engaging scenario for all.

I was going to do this, but then I decided to do a 1990-2011 scenario. Its still in progress.

To the OP, if he's still around: putting in Pakistan and India would be ahistorical. Also, alliances are unclear, I don't think such a deeply complicated political simulation could be simulated in AW. Especially things like Kurdish and Palestinian insurgency, as there is still no Kurdistan today.

Also, Israel looks completely screwed right from the start. But maybe Saudi Arabia fights on its side (it's more or less an American puppet as far as foreign affairs are concerned)? What about Egypt?

I was going to do this, but then I decided to do a 1990-2011 scenario. Its still in progress.

The geopolitical situation completely changed after 2003, though. It wouldn't work well, especially the Coalition of the Willing invading Iraq for instance. It should be limited to 1979-1991, I reckon.

It doesnt really change that much...
