How does tempo work??

Dear Forum,

This game keeps f*ing me up. Almost all battles are decided on who attacks first, and defending any position against tanks (cav) is impossible. It has become unplayable to me.

So if, there is a system behind who attacks first, could somebody explain how this works?

Well, the system you are refering to has to do with the "turnblocking" mechanics in this game. Search the forums for "turnblocking" (abbreviated "tb"), and it will give you full guides on how to turnblock enemies, and how to avoid them tb'ing you. As far as defending against tanks, use lots of infantry, as that is the best source of defense, unless you are using Gurilla Warfare (I don't think you are).
I'll do a practica game with you sometime and help you get started in atWar, and explain some of the game mechanics. PM me a time that would be good for you to do a practice game, and I'll try to help you out with it
