Alright guys, I had a very bad day today and found myself just thinking about random tings to keep my mind occupied. I came up with an idea for a gametype, but I don't know how people would like it or not, so here we are. The basics: First off, the minimap is removed and replaced with a roulette-wheel-esque circle, with three slots in it, numbered 1, 2, and 3. At the start of every turn, a "payout" is placed in every slot, the player with the highest earned SP for that turn gets whatever is in slot 1, the second highest in slot 2, and so on. Payouts can range from rare unit stacks, bonus SP, or even deadly ones, such as -10 SP or -100 credits. The sp earned in a turn is subtracted from the shown sp, and added to a players "Grand total" that is awarded at the end. Rotations: Now, at the end of every turn, a random number is rolled for each slot (appears on the outside), the higher the number is, the more likely that slot will have a deadly payout in it next turn. At the end of every turn as well, the wheel spins, counting down 1 of a set number of turns until a Jackpot is handed out. The jackpot is determined by taking everyones sp, and dividing it by 4. Other notes: I have decided the name should be "Keno" for it's lottery-like luck effects. I have also taken the time too make sure this is a more complicated so newer players do not use it to SP farm (although, you shouldn't earn too much sp in this gametype in the first place). Too lazy to make a paint.net one, so I stuck with El Cheapo MS paint for this one:

Okay, it doesn't sound too bad as a concept for putting cards into the game, which I think has been said as a feature Amok is working towards. I don't think 20 SP is a good reward by the way, as very few games actually reach the turn limit (yes, even 25 if we're talking about Europe). It just sounds like a way to farm SP. Why remove the minimap? Personally I wouldn't play it as it's based far too much on luck, but I can see why people might like it.

The Minimap is removed so the wheel can be there, duh. Where did I mention cards? 20 sp is an example. If this is a way to farm SP, then so is playing any other gametype. It's based too much on luck? The wheel is, yes, but it is still played like a normal game, only with the added wheel and rewards.

-_- The name is a play on the fact it has random chance. If winning random things is a "casino game", then I don't want to live on this planet anymore. You guys look way too deep into random facts and don't even make serious comments on the post.

I think it would be a bit too complicated for newer players. Didn't you make a post on a King of the Hill gametype though? Whoever did, I support that game type. I am not a big fan of this one though.

Erm, as for removing the minimap... it's unnecessary. Why not just have a button that bring up the roulette on the bottom left or something, LOL? Obvious solution is obvious... the roulette doesn't even need to be there the whole time! But anyway, don't shoot down people saying this is based too much on luck because hey, it's a perfectly valid criticism. There are loads of variables in the game already--such as the different strategies people use--a feature you hate due to the difficulty and unpredictability it brings. This skyrockets the variable of luck to infinity. Still, some people might like it, but I personally don't like luck-based games in general, like Battle of Wesnoth. The RNG is bullshit in that game.

My main reasoning for removing the minimap is because it would make the gametype seem more like a GAMETYPE and not a variant of "Capture this city", as all other gametypes are just that. How about where it default shows the Wheel where the minimap s, but you can switch between the two? Honestly I find the minimap useless anyways, as the scroll wheel is actually faster. A luck-based gametype would be fine, but I criticize Strategies because this is a game made for strategy, not random bonuses to units that you don't even know about, but that's for another time. The thing is, you should take this gametype as a "just for fun" one, as playing it seriously would cause massive butthurt in everyone (the same thing happens when gambling in real life).

I think some "just for fun" game types should be implemented. I just am not a big fan of this game type in its current state.

I don't know. If you simplified it for newer players, I would be more on your bandwagon. Also, I am sorry if I am being "that guy", but I felt like this post lacked poor presentation. I am one of those people who like to see a 1,2,3 kind of breakdown. I hate seeing everything bulked up into one massive paragraph when presenting an idea. It only further complicates things.

I agree that it should be broken down a bit more (any text feels TL;DR on the internet nowadays), but the quote above is actually saying "your post looks decent", LOL.
