Where is Dubai?

Was it removed for a reason? I don't think I'm gonna be able to play this game anymore without Dubai due to my personal connections with the city

It would be fun if you experimented with fast turns. Imagine if we had blitz games where players have enough time to make only 1 move.

This should be tested and then if everything checks out, implemented just to see how people respond to it.

Going forward:

You can reserve a country in exchange for 500 PC. The 500 PC will go towards the PC pool of the game. Mail me before or during the country selection phase if interested.

Game is considered fail if anybody leaves before turn 5 (i.e., on turn 1, turn 2, turn 3, or turn 4).

We will use straw polls before the game starts to determine victory conditions, unless it's a team game or the rules of the map require a minimum number of alliances.

If rules set by the map are not followed, you will be disqualified from receiving PC upon victory

The rules of the map are usually set by the mapmaker himself on the physical background of the map, but I may clarify, add, or subtract to the rules before the game starts.

Dear admins, mods, and helpers:

I would like to propose making it a bannable offense to deliberately leave a game for the purpose of ruining it.

As we all know, atwar is suffering tremendously, so I think we need to dissuade trolls in this environment by banning them when it's obvious they deliberately left turn 1 without sufficient reason. Players can ban other players, but this doesn't stop the troll.

Lol i was staying out of this threads that could be a potential red alert because....many past reasons. But what you wany might involve a lot of programming work bro, i want also new features or updates but i think at this point even an IA managing troops alons could be easily than what u want (it might also involve some animation skills? i dont know a lot of programming but what you said seems like it would also need some sort of animations.

There are also the bugs on map maker and the (possible) feature of maps bigger than 10k x 10k pixels bla.

in lieu of an advertising budget, this is in my view a necessary short-term expense in terms of time & money, due to the fact that it is required for any future advertising to be successful at all. The retention rate cna only be solved through spending time on implementing serious tutorial & an animated sun tzu avatar that follows new players for their first few games

And the reason I care personally about this is because we all benefit from higher retention rates: we would get more new players, which we haven't had in a long time (at least, new players who stick around and become high ranks, so that way they can play with us)

It's funny how short people's memories are. They forget how bad things were when I took over in December 2018. How long had the game been totally neglected up to that point? How many things were totally broken and never fixed by the old devs?

People were grateful when I came in and started fixing things. There's still a long way to go, but nobody can deny we made a lot of progress from 2019-2022... I think it's fair to say I've done more than the original devs ever did post-2014.

But as soon as the progress stops for a bit, out comes the hate. Nobody says "is Dave okay? is he still alive?". Instead, people accuse me of "not caring" about something that I obviously care a great deal about.

Well, I forget I'm dealing with a lot of kids here. Kids who don't know and don't care what it means to have responsibilities... to have employees who depend on you keeping a business running, or family that depend on you to take care of them when they're sick... or any of that stuff. All kids care about is if they can keep getting what they want from you. I guess I should know better than to expect more from atWar at this point.

Anyway, I'm still alive, not that anyone asked, and I'll get back to work on atWar when I can, just don't know when that will be yet.

I'm a highly empathetic person, but it's impossible for any of us to feel empathetic in the absence of information (i.e., we must have reason to feel empathetic, other than the "benefit of the doubt"). So, I'm glad you shined some light on the situation.

But what about the community? The vast majority of users on this platform will never see the message you just sent. In fact, the vast majority of users don't even know who owns this game. They just want to see the game develop. After all, that is the only reason we engage on this platform: it's because we enjoy the game. So, it's no wonder that we have not been "understanding" about the situation.

As for myself, as I said, I'm glad you shined some light on the situation. Your announcements are great, so making an announcement would be nice, especially if coupled with a milestone deadline for, for example, a revamped tutorial so that we can look forward to a growing user base at some concrete point in the future, as opposed to am ambiguous several years

Can this game be promoted a little bit on instagram, facebook, tiktok etc. so we could get more new players and get some of old players back.
If this trend continue, game will be dead and there will be no more players.
We couldnt fill game of 6 people in scenario for 3/4 hours.(btw this is not first time it happens)
Please consider this idea.

I suspect you mean you want me to pay a bunch of $$$ to run some ads. If so I can say we already tried that and it was a huge waste of money.

can you give us an update/time horizon for future updates soon? I would love to have an idea about when new tutorial might be implemented. I think we'd all understand if it's not until end of year, but all of us would appreciate having something to look forward to

Sometimes, Just doesn't feel like home anymore, due to many different accents and languages.
