I havent been on in a while and just now seen your guys support- thank you. I'm promoting this topic to spread my apology as far out as possible. Before I go MIA for months again the active players should get on discord and maybe we can salvage together 1 classic game mode together like Zombie UN or GGG or something nostalgic for the old guard- like them old historical nuts who get together every now and then to re-enact a civil war battle. I hope this games around when im 80 years old with Alzheimer's and I'm living in a nursing home where the 19-20 sum CNA girl is more invested in her I Phone 55 than making sure my ass is wiped - because in that moment when life sucks- I want this to be the thing that anchors me to a happy place when I no longer have my consciousness ( is a dark humor joke- but fr I love y'all even if you joined after the game died- I love you even more)

Pre-Covid Days from 2012-2018 was this games peak era. IDK when, how or the exact moment this game began its downward spiral but I hope and pray the new owners analyze what lead to the games downfall and do everything possible to revert the current course. I've been patiently waiting since 2022 (after the COVID Spike in activity died down immensely) for the game to recover, for the glory days of UN games, GGG games, WW1 scenarios, all that. If you ask me yknow what the issue was? The game got stale, the best map makers quit, the most popular players retired due to life things, and the genre of mil sims and war games is a genre that's dying due in part to the fact that the 90s, and early 2000s babies are aging away from this. When I started playing I was a dweeb, young newly married, and years later I come back, divorced, kids in highschool- I'm fatter, my hairs not as full as before, the same thing all old players and the old guard of this game are going through. you ask me, the only thing that'll save us- is the next generation of kids. But look across the gaming industry as a whole- Call of Duty games, Battle Field games, age of empires 4, Victoria 3, all these new modern war games have in common? from studios with millions and billions to spend? THEY ALL SUCK, THEYRE ALL doing poorly compared to the war games a decade ago - same genre. same players so in theory people would love em, but no, now kids wanna play Fortnite and whatever other BS YouTube streamers got going on. This game is dying because we don't have a Ferran or a god damn Baby Shark streaming the game play. Sorry for the rant but its da truth. IDK get a stupid millennial to stream us - introduce ads - use revs to pay for younger audience attention, instead of sucking this thing bone dry until the people who love this game die and the cash cow goes away forever.

Definitely gonna bump this. It's been the better part of five years since it was posted but this would be huge for scenario design.

I should probably mention that the nerf to LW is just tiny at the moment and we are still looking for more potential nerfs. Please post suggestions in the topic that I mentioned in the post.

You guys need a strategy to bring players in this game, not just to nerf a strategy ..
Make something new so we the old school players will return again and play this game.

It all depends on the skill at the end of the day, especially in these world map big unit counts games. I remember a PC drop where laochra was MOS Cuba and Mauzer Panteri was Asia PD, not sure which starting country.
Even though Mauzer consolidated Asia and reached africa and europe faster, Laochra managed to win on SP.
In this case though unit count advantage is too big and this game is lost for America.

Dave, I think there should be a clear and achievable goal for Lion to adhere to for him to come back. Chats get lost/deleted or forgotten all the time. If this discord group was so special then why trust others to administer it? It's not a part of AW's intellectual property or copyright, it's just a discord server. If there is material on there that was so important then it could just as easily be argued that you should have made backups too. What was so important about it anyway? Aren't there like a dozen AW servers? Let's just make a new one...

These types of games normally end up on who has most SP unless it max turn 500 or something.
Also its best u fight alone since fighting with 2 opponents that are allied means double SP for you (side effect is they can micromanage better than if you if they are experienced players but imo doesnt matter).
I normally go IF eu/asia cus units harder to kill means more sp , LB eu same as IF if u have more money but its tricky to manage the eco and nc/co/lw usa cus u will need to go inter oceanic.
Aside from these big 3 powers i count africa too for its massive reinf but as a weaker side player , u will need to be imp/gw/ins and allied with another great power to try to win.
